Making connections with other people in the music industry both local and national is very important. Consider some or our advice on networking: 1. Offer your help - before you ask someone to do something for you, find out what it is that you can offer them. People are more likely to put quality time into helping you if they know you will do the same for them 2. Stay in contact - when you meet other people in the industry be sure to keep in contact with them. whether you've worked with a connection in the past, or you plan to, stay connected and build a relationship. That way, if you ever need them for anything, they will consider you a friend and be glade to help. 3. Never burn a bridge - relationships are tricky, but in the professional world it is important to always stay on the up and up with others. You are not always going to like who you may have to work with, but don't let that get in the way of your business relationship. Always treat others with respect and never gossip. What goes around comes around. 4. Don't be shy - a closed mouth doesn't get fed, so don't be afraid to ask for what you want or seek what you are looking for. If you over hear a conversation that pertains to you, bud in (politely) they may be looking for someone just like you. 5. Stay ready - don't allow yourself to be caught off guard when you are out meeting new people. Be able to walk where you talk and showcase your talent, whether it be an online music page or a hot verse in your head always make a great first impression
